July 8, 2008 - By now you've probably heard that E3 2008 has been a little shaken up. It seemed not a day went by in the short weeks prior to the Electronic Software Association's official participant press release that another developer was pulling out of the event. With all these big developers and publishers leaving what was once the quintessential gaming event, is there anything left to get excited about? Let's take a look at who is still in (and who's out) of this year's E3!
- THEY'RE IN! -
After last year's monster release of Halo 3, Bungie is back! Will there be a Halo 4 announcement? Well, anything's possible, but those who played the former entry may have their doubts. Furthermore, since Halo Wars is being developed by Ensemble studios, it is more unlikely that Bungie will make another Halo announcement. So, who knows what we'll see from Bungie this year!
Fallout 3 has to be one of the most anticipated games for the coming year, and Bethesda Softworks will be on-hand to showcase what will almost certainly be the game to play this winter.
CAPCOM USA INC.:
E3 2008 will be the most likely venue for Capcom to showcase Street Fighter IV and hopefully announce a release date for the brawler.
EA will undoubtedly have a great deal to show at this year's E3, including Dead Space, Spore, and Mercenaries 2. Oh, and of course all those sports titles!
This publisher and developer has quite a few interesting games to show off at this year's E3 including hotly anticipated titles like Tomb Raider: Underworld and Just Cause 2.
With the monster release of Metal Gear Solid 4 behind them, it's still unknown what Konami might bring to this year's E3, but many fans are probably hoping for a closer look at the upcoming Silent Hill 5 (Silent Hill: Homecoming), which was announced at last year's event.
