Fable allowed something that was still new to videogames; it allowed the player to take a path of evil or good. In today's games, it is something that is vastly explored on different levels through such great titles as Bioshock. However, the credit has to go to Fable as one of the richest games to explore the good and evil sides of players. After witnessing the tragic events in his town of Oakvale, the boy is plucked from this travesty and enrolled into the Hero's guild.

After years of training and exceptional growth, the boy is set off on his own to discover the path, he is destined to walk. This is where the decisions of the player come into play. Several actions that you do can change how the boy looks and how the other NPCs react to him when he is around.

Being set up as a quest-based game also helped this game a lot. Instead of having one giant linear storyline, players can take certain quests at certain points in the game. It's almost loose enough to allow you to have a different game experience all the way around each and every time. In a world of fantasy, having these variances helped increase replayability.

With a huge sequel due in the near future, Fable is one game that everyone should pick up. Even if you have already played it a thousand times before, what is one more really going to hurt for a game of this caliber?
