As far as sound goes, the game itself feels a bit bland, and in typical RTS fashion you'll be hearing the same recycled sound effects over, and over, and over again. This isn't so much a problem as it is a flaw of the genre itself.

The cinematic sequences feature voice acting that is above-average, but still feels like at times even the actors can't take things seriously.

The online is well-executed, but as is the case with most games of this type, the hardcore players dominate. I found myself unable to even build a defense for the most part before your typical early rush came in and decimated my base. With practice I assume I'll be able to hold my own, but this game has a much higher learning curve than the typical Xbox Live game.

Expect to put a lot of time in if you don't want to be obliterated every game. This isn't like Halo where even the new guy can get a lucky hit in sometimes.

EA is finally stepping up to the plate to craft worthwhile experiences again, instead of another Madden or Sims title. Though not perfect, this is the best RTS title you're going to find on a console, bar-none. Even fans of the genre on the PC should give the title's 360 outing a go. You may even find that it's worth losing your keyboard and mouse controls for the comfort of the couch.

    Rating Description
    4.5
    Graphics
Some of the best we've seen on the Xbox 360. The units, explosions, and cinematics are all crafted beautifully. Some of the environments feel a bit static and lifeless, but you owe it to yourself to see this title in all its HD glory.
    4.5
    Control
The best RTS controls ever seen on a console. Not quite as flawless as the keyboard and mouse combo, as occasionally you'll find yourself unable to react quickly enough to deploy units or attempt to click an area of the map only to select a unit by mistake. For the most part though, you'll find them quite intuitive.
    4.0
Music / Sound FX / Voice Acting
The music does what it needs to without being distracting, and the campy acting during the cutscenes only serves to improve the experience with a bit of humor, however unintentional it may be. You will find yourself tiring of some of the repeated phrases of units as you select them, but there is a surprising amount of variety present.
    4.8
    Play Value
You'll find you'll get your money's worth out of this one. A lengthy single-player campaign combined with the near endless re-playability over Xbox Live makes this one of the best value-for-your-dollar purchases you can make for your 360. The only thing holding this back is that since the title is run on EA's own servers, that online functionality will likely be shut down in the distant future.
