Pid Is Anything But Piddly

A new puzzle platformer is hitting the scene, with whimsical flair and gravity-defying gameplay. Also, co-op! Pid is the latest effort from the people of Might and Delight, a team featuring many of the members of the Bionic Commando: Rearmed team.

According to Might and Delight’s website:

When a young schoolboy gets stranded on a remote old planet, a unique and eccentric journey unfolds. His search for a way off the planet takes him through cities and castles, attics and space stations on this dreamlike yet dangerous world. Along the way he outsmarts a variety of malicious robots bent on stopping him and befriends unlikely allies that shed light on a huge conspiracy, that keeps the planet mesmerized and prevents him from ever reaching home.

The first trailer reveals environmental puzzles, as well as elements that, in concert with the player’s ability to locally warp gravity, allow him to defeat the angular enemies of Pid’s world. Despite the charming graphics and music, there is an overbearing sense of loneliness in the trailer, as one would expect of a story about a child lost in an unfamiliar place.

Pid is intended for release the summer of 2012 on as-of-yet-unannounced digital download services.
