None Finally, a launch date has been given to the highly-anticipated Lord of the Rings MMO. The game has gone through a series of hardships including publisher changes. Midway and Turbine are ending the anticipation today with the announcement that The Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar will be released on April 24. Been waiting a lifetime for this game? Midway and Turbine are offering a deal to gamers who plan to give up their real life for years to come in order to play LOTR. If you preorder the game, you can choose between a monthly subscription rate of $9.99 (the regular price hasn’t been announced yet) or a one time fee of $199. Early subscribers will also receive access to the open beta that begins on March 30, character rollover from the beta to the live servers, and two in-game items – the Enchanted Cloak of Regeneration and the Ring of Agility. You may preorder beginning February 1.
