Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy
- Release Date — June 30, 2017
- Developer — Vicarious Visions
- Publisher — Activision
- Genre — Platformer
- Review Aggregate Score — 80% (Generally Favorable)
- Price — $15.99 (Normally $39.99, 60% off)
PlayStation hardware and Crash Bandicoot go hand-in-hand, with the first game in the series giving the PS1 its original mascot all those years ago. Right now, you can grab the excellent N. Sane Trilogy, the remake collection that reimagines the original PS1 Crash Bandicoot games, for just $16, which is a massive 60% drop from its normal $40 MSRP. Vicarious Visions did a commendable job remaking and compiling the first three Crash Bandicoot games into a single, unmissable package that feels like it belongs in every PS4 or PS5 owner's library, regardless of their fondness for the original games or the platforming genre as a whole. These are classic, well-made platformers with plenty of charm, humor, and some pretty excellent boss fights, not typical for the genre.
Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition
- Release Date — November 12, 2020
- Developer — Capcom
- Publisher — Capcom
- Genre — Action-Adventure
- Review Aggregate Score — 89% (Generally Favorable)
- Price — $9.99 (Normally $39.99, 75% off)
The original release of Devil May Cry 5 was so close to the eventual launch of the PS5 that the game got its very own Special Edition re-release once the PlayStation 5 launched in November 2020, and it remains one of the absolute best action games on the console all these years later. In addition, there's a very strong case for Devil May Cry 5 being the best game in the series (or at least tied with Devil May Cry 3), which makes it an essential pick-up for action game fans. If this one isn't already in your library, there's never been a better time to pick it up than right now, because it's back down to its previous historic low of just $10. Quite the bargain for such an incredible game.
Avowed
- Release Date — February 17, 2026
- Developer — Obsidian Entertainment
- Publisher — Xbox Game Studios
- Genre — Action RPG
- Review Aggregate Score — 81% (Generally Favorable)
- Price — $32.49 (Normally $49.99, 35% off)
It's safe to say that, for all the hype preceding it, Avowed didn't exactly blow the doors off for critics or RPG fans. But that's not to say that the game is without its merits, because it certainly offers one of the best first-person melee combat systems of any game out there. It's not as deep an RPG as some might have hoped for, given its place in the complex Pillars of Eternity universe, but if you approach Avowed as a very pretty-looking Xbox 360-era action RPG, it really ticks all the right boxes for the genre. The PS5 version of Avowed may actually be the best way to play the game (owing to some greater technical stability from its later arrival), and it's currently down to the lowest price we've ever seen any version of Avowed, coming in at just $32.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Deluxe Edition
- Release Date — April 28, 2023
- Developer — Respawn Entertainment
- Publisher — Electronic Arts
- Genre — Action-Adventure
- Review Aggregate Score — 85% (Generally Favorable)
- Price — $22.49 (Normally $89.99, 75% off)
Both of the Star Wars Jedi games from Respawn Entertainment are excellent "Souslite" experiences with a bit of Uncharted gameplay and Metroidvania DNA thrown in for good measure, and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is the best version of that particular formula. With any luck, Respawn will get a chance to make a third game and close out the trilogy, but for now, you can at least pick up the Deluxe Edition of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor for just $22, a massive 75% off discount from its normal $90 MSRP. If you enjoy the traversal, environmental exploration, and story focus of the Uncharted series, the parry-heavy sword combat of Sekiro, and also happen to be a fan of the Star Wars universe, you cannot go wrong with Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.
Lords of the Fallen
- Release Date — October 13, 2023
- Developer — Hexworks
- Publisher — CI Games
- Genre — Action RPG, Soulslike
- Review Aggregate Score — 70% (Mixed or Average)
- Price — $9.89 (Normally $29.99, 67% off)
Hexworks and CI Games' Lords of the Fallen II is just around the corner, but you can also grab its predecessor right now on the PlayStation Store for a mere fraction of its normal price. Lords of the Fallen is, confusingly, a reboot of the previous Lords of the Fallen game, which itself was one of the first titles to take on the Soulslike moniker and draw inspiration from FromSoftware's Demon's Souls and Dark Souls. The Soulslike genre grew leaps and bounds between that first Lords of the Fallen and the 2023 reboot, which resulted in the newer Lords of the Fallen being a pretty enjoyable experience that, while it doesn't reach the highs of a FromSoftware-developed game, still offers some compelling buildcraft and challenging boss fights. It might not have been worth grabbing at full price, but it's definitely worth a look at just $10.
Terminator 2D: No Fate
- Release Date — December 12, 2025
- Developer — Bitmap Bureau
- Publisher — Reef Entertainment
- Genre — Run 'n Gun
- Review Aggregate Score — 52% (Mixed or Average)
- Price — $20.99 (Normally $29.99, 30% off)
Completely disregard the middling critical scores on this one, because Terminator 2D: No Fate is one of the best retro run 'n gun games out there and a strong leading contender for the best Terminator game. Across 15 different stages, players will get to reenact the major events of James Cameron's 1991 seminal action masterpiece, complete with the opportunity to alter the course of fate and see how alternate endings to the movie may have played out. It's short, but Terminator 2D is the kind of game that inspires multiple playthroughs to unlock all secrets, beat previous high scores, and master the somewhat hefty challenge it throws at you in certain sections. Make no mistake: this is arcade-style run 'n gun royalty, and its current price is the lowest it's been since launch late last year.
Wolfenstein: The Two-Pack
- Release Date — May 20, 2014 (The New Order); May 5, 2015 (The Old Blood)
- Developer — MachineGames
- Publisher — Bethesda Softworks
- Genre — FPS
- Review Aggregate Score — 79% (The New Order); 76% (The Old Blood)
- Price — $7.49 (Normally $29.99, 75% off)
This year marks a full decade since the release of 2016's Doom reboot, which itself was preceded by a pair of other id Software classics being reimagined for a modern FPS audience: Wolfenstein: The New Order and its standalone DLC follow-up, Wolfenstein: The Old Blood. Unlike Doom, though, the newer Wolfenstein games are some pretty incredible cover shooters with old-school sensibilities, harkening back to their namesake as good, classic fun within the first-person shooter genre. Getting both New Order and Old Blood for less than $8 is probably one of the best "bang for your buck" deals available as part of the Next Level Savings event, especially if you're a fan of adrenaline-pumping FPS games with killer single-player campaigns.
Ninja Gaiden 4
- Release Date — October 21, 2025
- Developer — Team Ninja, PlatinumGames
- Publisher — Xbox Game Studios
- Genre — Action-Adventure
- Review Aggregate Score — 79% (Generally Favorable)
- Price — $41.99 (Normally $69.99, 40% off)
As great as Devil May Cry 5 is (and believe me, it is great), if you're looking for something along those same lines that's maybe a little bit newer and featuring a different combat sandbox, I'd happily point you toward last year's Ninja Gaiden 4. Not only is Ninja Gaiden 4 a phenomenal return to the franchise's 3D era, it's one of PlatinumGames' best titles and a much more accessible and fast-paced action game than most of what else launched last year. In a world where every action game is seemingly trying to borrow from Dark Souls, games like Ninja Gaiden 4 are downright refreshing. It's currently down to just $42, which is the lowest price it's been since its launch last year, making now a great time to pick it up if you've been on the fence.
Horizon Forbidden West
- Release Date — February 18, 2022
- Developer — Guerrilla Games
- Publisher — Sony Interactive Entertainment
- Genre — Action-Adventure
- Review Aggregate Score — 88% (Generally Favorable)
- Price — $19.99 (Normally $39.99, 50% off)
Both Horizon Zero Dawn and Horizon Forbidden West are excellent open-world action-adventure games, but Forbidden West goes a step further by really building on what was already an exciting and compelling sci-fi setting and giving main character Aloy some much-needed development. It's also absolutely huge, with plenty of content to dive into in just the base game to keep you busy for a long time. And if you don't already have it in your PS5 library, it's currently down to its lowest-ever price of just $20, which is a pretty fantastic deal on one of the best PlayStation exclusives out there.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance Saga Bundle
- Release Date — February 13, 2026
- Developer — Warhorse Studios
- Publisher — Deep Silver
- Genre — Action RPG
- Review Aggregate Score — 76% (Kingdom Come: Deliverance); 89% (Kingdom Come: Deliverance II)
- Price — $49.99 (Normally $99.99, 50% off)
Easily one of the best deals available as part of the Next Level Savings event, players can currently grab the Kingdom Come: Deliverance Saga Bundle for $50, which gets you the deluxe editions of both Kingdom Come: Deliverance games complete with all of their post-launch DLC. When it comes to immersive, historically accurate action RPGs, there's nothing else that really comes close to Kingdom Come: Deliverance and KCD2, and getting both games' deluxe editions sets you up for hundreds of hours of some of the best content the genre has given us in the last decade. Kingdom Come: Deliverance II was one of last year's legitimate GOTY contenders, and its predecessor only sweetens the deal.
Diablo IV
- Release Date — June 5, 2023
- Developer — Blizzard Team 3, Blizzard Albany
- Publisher — Blizzard Entertainment
- Genre — ARPG
- Review Aggregate Score — 86% (Generally Favorable)
- Price — $29.99 (Normally $49.99, 40% off)
With the recent Lord of Hatred expansion to Diablo IV, Blizzard's latest entry in its long-running ARPG series is in the best spot its been since launch, with a completely reworked endgame and plenty of new classes for players to check out, customize, and take on a crusade against the demon horde invading Sanctuary. Bully for you, then, that you can grab the base version of the game for just $30 right now, bringing the total cost of getting Diablo IV and its post-launch expansions down to just $70 instead of $90. Yes, there may be a better sale on Diablo IV and the Lord of Hatred expansion later in the year, but if you've been interested in jumping in, the best time to do so would be right now while everything is still fresh and the newest season has just begun.
Demon's Souls
- Release Date — November 19, 2020
- Developer — Bluepoint Games, Japan Studio
- Publisher — Sony Interactive Entertainment
- Genre — Action RPG
- Review Aggregate Score — 92% (Universal Acclaim)
- Price — $29.39 (Normally $69.99, 58% off)
If there's one deal that's completely unmissable (assuming you don't already have it in your library), it's the one on Bluepoint Games' Demon's Souls remake, which is down to its lowest-ever price of just $30 on the PlayStation Store. Demon's Souls has rarely gone on sale since its arrival as one of the PS5's flagship launch titles, so seeing it get an almost 60% off discount is a pretty big deal. And while there are some who still prefer the PS3 original, there's no denying that the now-defunct Bluepoint Games did a phenomenal job reimagining Demon's Souls and making it playable to a whole new audience. It really is an essential system exclusive that no library should be without, unless you're vehemently opposed to Souslikes.
Grand Theft Auto V
- Release Date — March 15, 2022
- Developer — Rockstar North
- Publisher — Rockstar Games
- Genre — Action-Adventure
- Review Aggregate Score — 97% (Universal Acclaim)
- Price — $19.79 (Normally $59.99, 67% off)
If you're looking for something to hold you over for the next few months as we all collectively await the launch of Grand Theft Auto VI, you could certainly do a lot worse than the PS4 and PS5 re-release of Grand Theft Auto V, which is once again back down to just $20. This is the umpteenth time we've seen GTA5 get this same 67% off discount, but there's bound to still be a handful of players out there who have held off adding it to their PS5 library all this time. If you happen to be one of those holdouts, you're likely never going to get a better deal on GTA5 than this, and there's more than enough content there to keep you entertained until GTA6 drops in November.
Mortal Kombat 1: Definitive Edition
- Release Date — September 19, 2023
- Developer — NetherRealm Studios
- Publisher — Warner Bros. Games
- Genre — Fighting
- Review Aggregate Score — 83% (Generally Favorable)
- Price — $20.99 (Normally $69.99, 70% off)
NetherRealm has a great track record of making the definitive versions of its fighting games incredibly appealing through some hard-to-beat deals, which its doing currently with both Mortal Kombat 11 and Mortal Kombat 1. While I prefer the DLC characters for Mortal Kombat 11 over the selection for Mortal Kombat 1, I'd argue that Mortal Kombat 1 is the better game, and being able to get the full package for just $21 is an absolute steal. Anyone looking for some incredibly brutal and bloody fighting should definitely take advantage of this deal before the Next Level Savings event ends next Wednesday.
Froza Horizon 5
- Release Date — April 29, 2025
- Developer — Playground Games, Panic Button
- Publisher — Xbox Game Studios
- Genre — Driving/Racing
- Review Aggregate Score — 92% (Universal Acclaim)
- Price — $35.99 (Normally $59.99, 40% off)
It's probably going to be at least a few months before the recently released Forza Horizon 6 makes its way to the PS5. But thankfully, Playground Games and Xbox Game Studios are cutting players in on a fantastic deal on its predecessor, with Forza Horizon 5 currently available for a nice 40% discount on the PlayStation Store. If you're in the market for a fantastic racing game and don't want to wait for the eventual launch of Forza Horizon 6, Forza Horizon 5 is the best substitute there is. Heck, one might even say that it's the PS5's best racing game, maybe even better than Gran Turismo 7.
